two things

One:
There's "a new online critical resource on product placement in the movies" called Brand Hype that's just been released. I haven't really had the time to play with it in any real way yet, but its creators say that while it's still in development (they compare it to the early beta years of the Internet Movie Database, one of my absolute faves), it's main feature is "a publicly accessible product placement database called Movie Mapper that can be searched by brandname, movie title, actor, studio, etc." The site also has a lot of other interesting material. Could get interesting...
Two:
Hayseed Dixie. Oh my. Not only do they cover AC/DC, but also KISS, "Mountain Love" and other classics (yes, Led Zeppelin are represented!), but they also throw in a few originals with their unique "rockgrass interpretations of classics." Fun, fun! Thanks for the tip, Jim!

Brand Hype is brilliant! Five minutes of poking around uncovered this gem, from the Austin Powers page:

"Andy Warhol likeness synonymous with merchandising"

Part zen koan, part epitaph.
