mementos

Unpacking and finding bits and pieces; remnants of the weekend that was far too short but chock full of beautiful moments. These come from nk's two so very smart gorgeous kids bouncing on the big hotel king-sized bed, playing with the air conditioner, trying to figure out why the 'house' didn't have a living room, and reminding me of my age while singing their mum's version of Echo & the Bunnymen's "Bring on the Dancing Horses" (which works remarkably well as a kids song!). They're really startingly bright 3½ year olds, and with drops of wisdom and humour coming from their mouths, it's easy to forget how 'young' they actually are.

They actually made me forget the pains of 'kids in the academy' and to want a couple of my own.
