This just in (well, yesterday) from Inside Higher Education: "What Would Wittgenstein Do?" A quick little read on a new experiment that was launched this month: a web site called Ask Philosophers (billed with the tagline "You ask. Philosophers answer"). In an interesting and unusual move to bring the academy to the public and vice versa, this site helps to bridge the disconnect and illustrate the ubiquity of philosophy in everyday lives. 35 philosophers, mostly men, having expertise that span the board (well, almost), and questions from anyone and everyone (apparently they receive about 20 to 30 each day, but the site is still in its burgeoning stages). Google groups have also been established to continue on discussion and debate after the first round has been given its go. Worth watching to see what transpires...
In other news, Daniel Drezner (his name has popped up here before) has been denied tenure by the University of Chicago. Did blogging play a role? Inquiring minds wanna know. [- Thanks for the head's up, pacanukeha]
